Just phone your news items to 44, The Colborne Chronicle. | On Sunday last, at ten o'clock, in the morning, part of Jim Bell's article in June 8th issue, was broadcast on the Neighbourly Hour programme from Kings- Mr. and Mrs. Percy Smith, lr., Whitby, visited their par-;nts, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Smith, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Irish. Miss Barbara Seeley, Belleville, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Seeley. Miss Marjorie Muskett is visiting Mrs. Florence Woods, Oshawa. Miss Anne Irwin, St. Catherines, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. George Moore. We wish a speedy recovery to Miss Vera Sherwin and Mrs. Lee Gallant, who are both patients in Cobourg District General Hospital. are sorry to lose Mr. and Cecil Nobes and family rom the community. The Nobes arnily moved to Ingersoll on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Gorman, Syracuse, N.Y., and Mrs. J. C. iyre, Kingston, Ontario, are ;uests of their sister and hus->and, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Row- M Master Donnie Redick spending ten days at Watertown and Utica, N.Y., along with his gramma and grampa, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ward. Mr. and Mrs. E. Hess of Hastings and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Oliver and Laurie Ann of Norwood visited Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Davis al their cottage at Little Lake on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thompson and boys of Napanee were supper guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Thompson on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Darling of New Toronto spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. W. S. Dale. Sunday School class of girls with Mrs. E. Thompson enjoyed a hike having an invitation from Mrs. Bradley to have their lunch on their spacious picnic table, ail went over fine before the Mr. and Mrs. Bill Harrison and Kim visited Mr. and Mrs. G. Quinn, Bernard and Micheal. Lake Simcoe, Mr. Wm. Harrison and Marjorie, Port Perry, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Adcock, Hampton, over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. White visited their son, Flt-Sgt. and Mrs. H. J. White in Ottawa Sunday. They were accompanied by Miss Elma Pearson who remained to assist Mrs. White for a few weeks. v Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Fox, were Mr and Mrs. Fred Smith of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Miss Sandra Stewart and Mr. Mark Stewart of Canton, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Stevens of Rochester, N.Y., visited Mr. and Mrs. John Bell on the week-end. Miss Joan Kearns and Mr. Bob Grills called on Mr. J. W. Summers, Mr. and Mrs. E. Kearns and Mr. and Mrs. Mac Campbell. Mrs. George Mellow, Burlington visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Black for a week. Mrs. Wise and daughter of Paris, Ontario spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. K. Palmateer. Miss Rita Maxwell of Toronto spent the week-end witli her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Chapman. Mr. Wayne Ring accompanied by Mrs. G. B. Barnes played a trumpet solo on the "Talent Time", over CHEX T.V. in Peterborough last Wednesday evening. We understand Tom Philps will be on the program in the fall. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Teal and family spent Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. D. Campbell in Havelock, the occasion being Mr. and Mrs. Campbell's 9th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hetherington, Brighton, and Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Hetherington of Belleville also attended. Mrs. Kay Island and family and Mrs. Island's father, Mr. Joseph Cornelius attended a christening of Mr. Cornelius's great grandchild in London. They also called on Mr.^ and Mrs. C. Nobes and family in Ingersoll on their way home. Colborne Band and Baton Corps attended the Senior Citizens Rally in Cobourg on Wednesday. Mrs. Olive Riley is spending a week with her sister, Mrs. H. McGillivrary. Mrs. George Brooks of Belleville spent a few days last week with Mrs. Cecil Nobes and Mr. and Mrs. James McBride of Belleville called on Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Nobes on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Roy Packard, Mrs. Cecil Oliver and family were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Blyth. Mr. Edward Kearns and friend of Burlington was home visiting his , parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Kearns for the week- Mr. Bill Kearns of Enterprise visited his brother, Mr. E. Kearns on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Holmes of Winchester visited Mr. J. W. Summers for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. William F. Loncto and family of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Misses Terry and Bonnie Jones of Hilton N.Y., spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Ford Cowie. { Mr. Lloyd Summers and Mr. Mr. Jim Conaghan called on Mr. and Mrs. Mac Campbell on Sunday. Asbell On Monday evening, June 20th, the congregations of Grafton and Vernonville United Churches gathered in Grafton to honour Rev. T. B. Asbell and family with a presentation prior to their departure to Peterborough. The address was given by Mrs. G. G. Young and presentations were made by Mr. Gordon Fin-ley, Mrs. J. M. Blacklock and Mrs. Doug Deviney. Rev. Asbell was presented with an inlay step table, Mrs. Asbell a white milk glass vase and Miss Doris Asbell with a white leather Photograph Album.
