Mrs. Florence Wood, Mrs. John Jenkins and children all of Oshawa and Miss Elizabeth Basinger of Cobourg were Sunday guests of Miss Marjorie Muskett. Mr. and Mrs. James Smith and Barbara of Toronto were week-end guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Myles. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson celebrated their 35th anniversary over the week-end, the family entertained them to a sumptous dinner held at the Chateau Hotel, Cobourg SatuwqUon visiting her parents, Mr. day evening. All The family were present except Douglas who was away hunting. Mrs. Harold Bellamy of Can-nington visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willet Masters. Mrs. C. A. Myles, Miss Jessie Bugg, Miss Maude Connors, Mr. Jack Freitag and Mr. Paul Island called on Mr. and Mrs. L. Frietag in Eagonville recently. Mr. and Mrs. -Ernie Jeffery spent the week-end in Barrie visiting their son, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Jeffery and family. Miss Marilyn Teal of Teachers College Peterboro spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Teal. Miss Karen Island and Miss Carol Bausch attended their class reunion at the Empress Hotel in Peterboro on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. A. Dale and family spent Sunday in Bramp- 'and Mrs. W. Moffat and also visited Mrs. A. Dale Sr. who is a patient in North Western Hospital, Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Teal, Bonnie and Ricky were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. OBITUARY Lena Grace Irvine Mrs. Lena Grace Irvine of Lakeport passed away in Cob-•g General Hospital on Wednesday, November 1st, 1961, in her 79th year. She was born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, June 5th, 1883, daughter of the late Lisetta and Rozelli Winter. On December 24th, 1902, she was united marriage with the late Will- n G. Irvine at Lakeport, following this they resided in Lake-port and Port Hope. A member of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, the deceased was active in church affairs and during the war did a lot of knitting for the Red Cross. Predeceased by a daughter Marion and a son George she survived by six children, Douglas of Toronto, Jean of Lakeport, Gerald of Port Credit, Robert of Wingham, Bruce of Lakeport and Marguerite of Cobourg. Also surviving, one sister and two brothers, Nellie Arrowsmith of Toronto, Stanley Winter of Grafton and Delwor-th Winter of Port Hope, twenty-two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral service was held at ie J. M. Blacklock Funeral Home, Grafton, on Saturday, November 4th, at 2.30 t 'ith the Rev. W. E. Sayers officiating. Interment was Lakeport Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lloyd Gaul of Toronto, Jim Winter, Grafton, George Haywood, Toronto, Irvine Crawford, Lakeport, and Harold Winter, Grafton Ken Winter of Baltimore. Friends and relatives from Toronto, Wingham, Kingsti Port Hope Cobourg and Port Dalhousie attended the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lackey, Jimmy and Johnny spent Sunday afternoon and Monday visiting relatives in Toronto. LAKEPORT The Ladies' Aid of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church met at the home of Mrs. Delbert Peebles, Tuesday evening, October 24th, with thirteen ladies present. The President, Mrs. Delbert Peebles, opened the meeting with Scripture reading, James, chapter 1, followed by the Lord's prayer in unison. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. G. Edison in the absence of Mrs. M. Cherry. Treasurer's report was read by Mrs. R. Moore. The business was carried out in the usual manner. A generous donation was received from Miss Rose Lamb, Toronto, and our thanks will be extended by the Secretary. Last minute plans were made for the turkey supper to be held on November 8th. Mrs. Moore, our very efficient Treasurer for eleven years, was presented with a gift from the Ladies' Aid, a very pretty three strand necklace and earrings. The President read a short address and expressed regrets in losing Mrs. Moore. Our best wishes go with her in her new surroundings. The next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Moore, Grafton, on Wednesday afternoon, November 22nd. Quite a bit of indigestion is caused by people having to eat their words.
