Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Anderson of Kingston spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mr. and Mrs. Verne Tapely, Ricky and Wayne visited at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Nesbitt, Port Hope, on Sunday. Mrs. Neil Fiddick of Toronto spent the week-end at her home Mrs. Frank McGlennon is a patient in Cobourg Hospital. Her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Miss Phyllis Oke of Toronto, spent the week-end at her home. W. COBOURG I as Santa will be there. Mr. and Mrs. George Edison and family accompanied by Miss Norma Lee of Colborne, were recent guests of Mrs. Isobel Puffer in Baltimore. Mr. Jim McKenzie of Toronto spent the week-end at his home. Mrs. McKenzie and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jack Thorpe and grandaughter Tracey Jane returned to Toronto with him on Sunday for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Peebles accompanied by Mrs* Goldie Cox and Mrs. Nellie Pendergast spent Saturday in Kingston. Miss Merle Flanders of Cobourg visited at the home of her parents during the week-end. A very enjoyable evening w spent at Lakeport School i Friday last, sponsored by the Lakeport Recreation Committee Winners for euchre were: Ladies high score, (Mr.) Clifford Taylor; Ladies lone hands, Mrs. Gordon Knapp; Ladies low Mrs. Claude Rose. Mens high score, Mr. William Wildey of Wicklow; Mens lone hands, Mr. F. Greenwood, Cobourg; Mens low, (Mrs.) George Johnston. Spot dance prize winn« were, Narda Taylor and Carman Baggaley, Gail Kirton and Jerry Hoare, Pattie Johnston and Randy Oke. Following refreshments, Mr. Elmer Tripp was asked to draw the winning ticket for the Bridge Set, (table and four chairs), and the winner was Mrs. C. Russell of Scarboro. Mrs. Russell is Mrs. Winnifred Robinson's daughter. St. Paul's Ladies Aid The Ladies Aid of St. Paul' Presbyterian Church held their regular monthly meeting Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Delbert Peebles on Tuesday evening, December 5th. Owing to illness in the home, Mrs. Fred Coffeen was unable to entertain as planned, Mrs. Peebles kindly offered to Try your Drug Store FIRST for Christmas Gifts ... Peebles opened the meeting with reading Scripture, St. Luke, Chapter 2, verses 1 to 20, followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison. All joined in singing a Christmas carol, "Away in a Manger". The secretary's report was read by Mrs. George Edison, also one thank you note. The treasurer's report was read by Mrs. Bob Moore. A letter with donation enclosed was read, .from Mrs. G. Mac-Gregor. This was appreciated very much and the secretary was instructed to send a letter of thanks. Get well cards were signed for Miss Betty McGlennon and Mrs. Frank McGlennon both are patients in Cobourg Hospital. We wish them a speedy recovery. Donations are to be sent tc Scott Mission in Toronto, and St. Paul's Sunday School for Christmas treats. Penny bags were handed in. Several carols were sung during the meeting. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Mrs. Peeble's home was ely decorated for the occasion, and Mrs. Tom Cuthbert played the part of Santa Claus and distributed the Christmas gifts. After each had opened their gift, they sat down at the dining room table and enjoyed t lovely lunch and spent a happj social hour. A vote of thanks was extended to Mrs. Peebles for her hospitality. The next meeting, which is the annual meeting is to be held at the home of Mrs. George Peebles on Tuesday evening, January 9th. DUNDONALD by Mrs. Gordon Honey Service next Sunday at 9.45 a.m. Sunday School at 11.00 Mr. and Mrs. John Day and family of Castleton were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapman. Mrs. Keith Stimers visited Mr. and Mrs. Frances Stickle Brighton on Friday evening. Mrs. John Cooney, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Honey, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Honey and Mrs. Elmer Whittaker attended the W. I. Christmas Party on Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Gordon Metcalfe, Colborne. A number from the neighbourhood ' attended the Santa Claus parade in Colborne Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Samis of Browns Corners and Mr. Bruce Connors of Colborne spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mutton. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Honey and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stimers attended the Wardens Banquet in Cobourg Pavilion, on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mutton, Mrs. Archie Samons and Mrs. Roy Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wright attended the pictures at Sharon Church Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morrison and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Len Dickens in Colborne. Mrs. Herbie Trottman and Mrs. F. Simpson visited Messrs. Harry Simpson, Don Macintosh Earl Irwin and Mrs. Jack Mutton in Cobourg Hospital on Wed nesday. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Gresham of Colborne were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Honey. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mutton of Shiloh were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mutton. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapman and Philip visited Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Herrington in Edville on Thursday evening. Messrs. Don Farrow, Charlie Trottman and Johnny of Brighton called on Mr. and Mrs. Herbie Trottman and Mr. Herb McDonald on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mutton attended the 50th wedding anniversary of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. William Yateman in Trenton on Wednesday, December 6th.
