Evely on Thursday afternoon. ^ Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Martin of Brighton were tea guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Martin and family on Sunday. Mr. Eddie Ruttan was a tea guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stickle and family on Sunday. Mr. Gordon Sutton of Toronto called on Miss Mary Stickle on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Calberry called on Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Denny of Colborne on Sunday. , Mrs. John McCracken spent the week-end at her son's, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mutton. Mr. Doug Sisler of Dundon-ald spent the week-end with Philip Warner. Mr. Wilfred Jewell spent the week-end at his home in Simcoe as his father is in the hospital with a heart attack. Mr. Gordon Evely and Johnny, of East Colborne called on Mr. and Mrs. J. Evely on Friday afternoon. The Public School held a sleigh-riding party and dance at the school on Saturday evening. Mr. Hermer called on Mr. and Mrs. Harry Warner and family on Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Toyne, Ray and Norman of Malton were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Evely. CASTLETON by Mrs. F. Warner the week-end at Mr. and Mrs. 3. Pomeroy. Mr. Harry Isaac has returned home after three weeks in the Campbellford Hospital. Mrs. Elwood Jones is in Belleville Hospital for treatment. Mrs. T. Black spent the weekend in Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Black. Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey left this week to spend six weeks with relatives in Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Inglis and Robert of Odessa spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. C. Inglis. Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Harnden of Grafton were Sunday visitors of Mrs. H. Welton. Mr. Wm. Pratt and Kingsley Welton were in Toronto on Sat- Library Meeting On Saturday night the annual library meeting was held in the Library. Mr. Lyle Jones, President, was in charge of the meeting. The report of Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs. Wentworth, showed a balance of $77.71 on hand with a circulation of 450 books. There are a total of 1693 books in the library. Plans were made to buy new drapes and floor covering. Reeve Gerald Philip conducted the election of officers as follows: President, Lyle Jones; Sec.-Treas. Mrs. Wentworth; Librarian, Mrs. M. Haynes; Asst. Librarian, Mrs. J. C. McKague; Board members, Mrs. F. Warner, Mrs. H. Welton, Mrs. J. C. McKague, Mrs. C. Quinn, Mr. G. Philip, Mr. L. Jones and Mrs G. Carr. It is hoped more members will take advantage of the use of the books. SHILOH by Mrs. Lawrence Mutton Service at. Shiloh United Church will be at 9.45 a.m. next Sunday. EDVILLE by Mrs. Dean Chapman Service next Sunday at Sharon United Church will be at 7.30 p.m. Sunday School at 10 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sprung, Windsor, and Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Ward, Oshawa, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne McDonald on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Chatten, Rosalie, Arthur and Elaine, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rusaw, Colborne. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Rouse, Union Neighbourhood, called on Mr and Mrs. Walter Chapman on Thursday evening. Mr. Owen Tripp spent the week-end in Bancroft. Mr. Ernest Pearson is spending some time with Mr. Gordon Mutton, Shiloh. Mr. and Mrs. Alex McDonald, Robin and Glen, Scarborough, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Chapman on Sunday.
