Last Friday, Master Mark Chapin, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Chapin, severely injured a finger, which resulted in having part of it taken off. He was hos pitalized for a few days but : home now and doing quite well. Mr. Ren Joice visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Joice, Baltimore, on Sunday. Mr. Percy Hall and children, Grafton, called on Mr. and Mrs. Ken Palmer last week. CALDWELL--FLANDERS On Saturday, June 2nd, 1962, Calvary Baptist Church, Cobourg. was decorated with pink and white mums and carnations for the wedding of Miss Frances Merle Flanders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Flanders, Lakeport, to Mr. Gary Douglas Caldwell, son of Mrs. Caldwell and the late James Caldwell, Cobourg. Rev. S. D. France officiated at the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her fath- •, the bride was radiant in a floor-length gown of white peau-de-soie with a high waistline and fitted bodice of chantilly lace with ....Hoped neckline and 1 o ft g sleeves. Chantilly lace appliques adorned the front of the full skirt, which fell to a chapel train. Her shoulder-length bouffant veil was held to a crown of seed pearls with rhinestones. Pink sweetheart roses covered the white Bible she carried and trailed down two streamers. She wore a cultured pearl necklace, gift of the groom. Miss Anita Flanders was maid of honour for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Jean Caldwell, sister of the groom, and Miss Lois Gardiner, cousin of the bride. All gowned in leaf green silk organza over taffeta with chantilly lace bodices. They wore matching headpieces, white accessories, and carried pink carnations. Little Margaret Henry, cousin of the groom, was flower leaf green organza over taffeta. She carried a basket of pink carnations and tinted mums and wore a headband of the same flowers. Mr. George Caldwell was his brother's groomsman and ushers were Mr. Carman Massey, Baltimore, and Mr. Ted Olver, Tor- The soloist, Miss Shirley Anderson, Brantford, accompanied by Mrs. Dorothy Thomas at the organ, sang "Wedding Prayer", and during the signing of the register, "O Perfect Love". One unusual and effective part was added to the regular marriage ceremony at its close. The bride, turning to her husband, repeated in a clear and audible manner, the sixteenth and seventeenth verses of the first chapter of the book of Ruth. At the reception in the church basement, the bride's mother received the 80 guests. She wore a sheath dress of powder blue organza over print taffeta, with matching organza coat, white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The groom's mother assisted wearing a navy lace sheath dress and matching jacket with pink accessories and corsage of pink carnations. For their wedding trip to Quebec and the United States, fhe bride chose a white brocade sheath dress with matching jacket, turquoise accessories, and a corsage of pink sweetheart On their return, Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell will reside in Cooksville, Ontario. The groom, a recent graduate of the University of Toronto, is employed with the Ford Motor Company, Oakville. Out-of-town guests were present from Toronto. Peterborough, Aiax, Brantford, SarnU, Niagara Falls, Dryden, Cornwall, Orangc-ville, Orillia and Port Colborne.
