Summers struck a flowing artesion well while drilling at the home of Ronnie Chambers, 2 miles west of Brighton. Mrs. Norman Kennedy, Oshawa, Mrs. Norman Sheldrick and Miss Doris Cook spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sheldrick spent the week-end around Stratford and points West. Masters Wayne and Randy Gilbert and Miss Darlene Gilbert are spending a week with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sheldrick. Mr. J. W. Summers and Mrs. Harriet Summers attended a presentation in Hampton of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Grills who were married on August 18th. Mr. Garnet Summers of Cornwall spent a couple of days with his mother, Mrs. Harriet Suram- Mr. and Mrs. Charles O'Connor of Hastings were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Borden Summers on Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. S. D. France of Cobourg were recent guests of Rev. and Mrs. L. M. Smith, "Snm-atanga", Victoria Beach, Colbor- i Port Perry. Dr. and Mrs. R. G. Lecky and sns Robbie and Griffith, and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Lecky spent the week-end, guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Rutherford. Miss Marilyn McKenzie of Toronto spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Usborne. Mrs. G. F. Rutherford spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Rutherford in Bloomfield. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Draper of Niagara Falls were over night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rutherford recently. Mrs. James Powell ai Jimmy of Ingersoll will return home this week-end after spending two weeks with her mother Mrs. Charles Bugg and family. Mrs. Clinton Coyle has returned home after visiting her daughter, Mrs. Marion Franklin at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Mrs. Beatrice Smith has returned home after spending a week with her cousin, Mrs. William Hines and Mr. Hines in Tor- ***** Mrs. Gladys Hart is spending this week with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Corkery and Danny of Scarboro. Mrs. Ida Davidson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. A. Rutherford to Hay Bay Church service on Sunday. Rev. G. T. and Mrs. Simpson of Avon spent part of their holiday with Mrs. Simpson's moth-Mrs. Hinton. Their daughter, Betty Marie was married on the 28th of July to Mr. Lyle Britscgi of London. They reside at 149 Godfrey Drive, London. They spent their honeymoon in Virginia and Washington. Rev. Dwight Hinton, Mrs. Hinton and children called on Mrs. Hinton on their way to Rock-spring to spend their holidays, with his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Hinton. Dwight is at Mono Mills United Church. of Oshawa were Sunday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Chapman. Wolfraim of Colborne and Miss Barbara Taylor and Miss Linda Crawford of Pickering Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Evely of Ridgeroad visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Evely on Sunday. and Mrs. Robert Toyne of Malton spent the dinner on Monday with Mr. and Mrs. J. Evely. Mr and Mrs. Harvey Thomp-in and sons Garry and Wayne of Oakville were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Thompson. Miss Linda Chisholm returned returned with them Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Art State and son Randy have returned home to Toronto after spending part of their holiday with Mrs. States parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Fiske. The remainder of their holidays spent in the Adirondacks, holidaying at Lake Placid and the White Face Mountains. Celebrate Fortieth Wedding Anniversary The home of Reg and Ken Hobbs of Morganston was ; of a family gathering on Sunday, August 19th. to commemorate the 40th wedding anniversary of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Leslie Hobbs of Colborne. Besides Reg and is wife Jean and their four children, Ken and his wife Betty and their three children, out of town visitors were, daughters Elsie and her busband Lyile Loyst, Grace and her husband Ross Simpson and their two sons, Ruth McKinnon and her two children and Mr. Hobb's sister, Elsie Marshman and her two children. After a delightful buffet supp-r which included a beautiful inniversary cake in the shape of i horseshoe, the guests of hon-mr were presented with a purse of money from family and their friends. Hoare and Mr. Sidney Pearson and Stephen called on Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jackson in Salem on Sunday. A number of ladies from Sharon were luncheon guests of Mrs. Keith Stimers on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Forest and family spent a few days last wek with Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Mulhall. Community Women's Institute ladies served tea at the Flower Show in Brighton town Hall on Saturday afternoon. Master Stephen Pearson entertained a number of friends at a birthday party in his home on Monday. Happy birthday Stephen. The Hilton Circuit school children entertained their parents on Friday evening at Sharon Community Hall. All enjoyed a wiener roast and c amp . fire service. Mr. Herbert Tinney of Campbellford was an over night guest of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Chapman on Monday. Lee Electric Bell Dial System (Continued) ed was designed and manufactured to meet Colborne's specific needs. S. R. VanDusen, Bell Telephone Company manager here, explained. The installation work and testing of the exchange equipment is being carried out by Northern Electric Company craftsmen. Reffering to many other activities surrounding the dial conversion here, Mr. VanDusen said, all phases of the project are progressing according to schedule. One of the biggest jobs involves extending the outside wire and cable network serving the exchange area, and adapting it for --'! under the dial system.
