Mr. and Mrs. Frank McNally, Scarborough, were week-'end guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. Harri- Mrs. Eva McMurray of Albion, N.Y., has returned home after spending a few days with Mrs. Fred McMurray. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Newton who have just returned from spending four months in Edmonton, Alberta, were guests of Mrs. Cameron Philp last week. Goody spent the week-end visiting Mr. and D. Goody and family, Sudbury. Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Harnden entertained their family last Sunday with a lovely chicken dinner at the Town and Country, Cobourg. Afterwards the family spent the remainder of the day at their cottage, Lakefront, Grafton. Among those attending were Mr. and Mrs. M. Mushinski, Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. J. Kernaghan and family, and Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Johnston and family. Mr. and Mrs, Harnden were presented with a lovely Corning Ware Coffee Maker for their 44th wedding anniversary on Tuesday. Grand Jury Finds Gaol Overcrowded Overcrowded conditions in the County Gaol were again the only adverse report by the Grand Jury for the United Counties at the sittings of the Supreme Court last week. i The jurors visited the County Gaol, found it in an overcrowded condition and recommended that proposed cells on the top floor be completed as soon a Considered unsafe was the overhang of the steel guard eaves. The County Court House, the Health Unit, and Golden Plough Lodge were also visited and these establishments were found to be in "excellent condition."
