Mr. and Mrs. Howard Chapman and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mutton, Brighton, on Sunday. Mr. Harold Peters, Queen's University, Kingston, spent the weekend with Mrs. Roy Chapman and Ray. Miss Beryl Dickens, nurse-in-training at General Hospital, Toronto, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morrison. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Hempstead, Chris and Lynn, Oshawa, called on Mr. and Mrs. Winston Packard on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pearson were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Pearson, Norham. Mr. Victor Scott, Toronto, spent the week-end at "The Cedars". We are pleased to report Mr. Robert Darke was able to return home on Monday from Cobourg District General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Samons attended the Davis-Robins wedding in Roseneath United Church on Friday evening at 7.00 o'clock, a handle light wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapman spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Turney, Bowmanville. Mr. and Mrs. Erie Sandercock, Fenella, called on Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Honey on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald, Pam and Debby, Colborne, called in the evening. RIDGE ROAD by Mrs. Harry Stickle Mr. Bob Metcalf has left for Guelph where he will attend the Veterinary College. Mr. Bill Stickle of Toronto spent the week-end home with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Warner and Philip enjoyed a boat trip over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. G. Ventress and Lyn. Mr. and Mrs. Smeall of Guelph spent Tuesday and Wednesday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Metcalf and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rose and Mr. W. Rose. Mr. and Mrs. C. Anderson of Stoney Creek spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. J. Watson. Mr. Gerald Hatfield, Arden Hatfield and friend, Mr. Arden Penman of Novia Scotia, spent the week-end with Mrs. Lydia Heagle and Mr. and Mrs. Jules Hatfield. Miss Glenis Miller and twin sister, Gladys, of Port Hope, spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stickle and Miss Noreen Wright, who spent the summer with Mr. and Mrs. G. Most of the tobacco farmers have finished the crops before frost again this year and in spite of bad storms through the season has been a fairly good Mrs. E. Trim is taking up residence in Newtonville after spending several years at Mr. John Mr. and Mrs. Ron Broomfield of Cobourg visited Mr. and Mrs. C. Inglis on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Baker of Port Hope and Mr. Vanwicklin were Sunday visitors of Mrs. H. Welton. The ladies of Castleton W.I. had an exhibit at Warkworth Fair and did very well with the various prizes. Mrs. D. Arkils is in Campbellford Hospital with a heart attack and Mrs. H. Ducie is also in the same hospital for observation. Mrs. Gordon Ellis spent Wednesday with Mrs. L. Spencer in Colborne. Mrs. Jon Bailey returned Friday from Virginia by plane to Malton Airport. She has been visiting relatives the past two weeks in Red Oak Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Zeba Fox of Toronto are holidaying at their cot-i tage here. W.I. Meeting The W.I. meeting was held on | Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Earl Harren with 25 pres-| ent. The President, Mrs. S. Peebles was in charge.
