Mr. and Mrs. Herman LaFranc and children accompanied by her mother, Mrs. McMaster, all of Clarkson, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Roseblade and family. Sorry to report that Francis Blake is a patient in the Cobourg General Hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery. Rev. R. K. Harris is Evangelist at the Rock Church, New York City. He is preaching services nightly, except Monday and Saturday. Mrs. Jack Reid of St. Thomas spent last week with Mrs. R. K Harris and family and Mr. Her bert Harris. Mr. Lloyd McMurray, Joe, Joan Ann and Miss Stephanie Mutton visited Mrs. Lloyd McMurray in Kingston General Hospital on Sunday. Minutes of the November meeting were read by Mrs. Bradford in the absence of the secretary. Miss Ashbridge gave the trea-rs report, and reports of the convenors of the different mittees were read. Mrs. Baxter, the conven< the nominating committee brou-in her report of the new slate of officers. A detailed account of the workshop held at Warkworth by Mrs. Michell. A very beautiful and impressive worship service was given by Vera Arkles, assisted by i ladies, taking as their theme the Christmas Story. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. WILLING WORKERS The December meeting of the Willing Workers of Old St. Andrews Church met at the home of Miss Morrison, King St. East, o Thursday afternoon, Decembc 6th., with a good attendance. Mrs. Hollingsworth, president, presiding. Mrs. Dickson read the 92nd Psalm, Mrs. Little following with a lovely prayer. The secretary, Mrs. Davidson read minutes of the November r ing and moved their adoption, which was seconded by Mr Rutherford. A letter was read from the Ewart College, Peterborough, asking for a donation. Moved by Mrs. Sayers that we contribute $25.00 to the college, which was seconded by Mrs. McGlennon. A motion was passed that we send Christmas boxes to he shut-ins. A get-well card to be sent to Urs. C. Peebles, now, who is patient at Toronto General Hospital. This being the annual meeting, Mrs. Rutherford was asked to be Chairlady and she graciously accepted. The following officers were elected for 1963: President, Mrs. Hollingsworth; 1st. vice-president, Mrs. B. Rutherford; 2nd. president, Mrs. Little; Secretary, Mrs. A. C. McGlennon; Assistant Secretary, Miss Morris-Treasurer, Mrs. McManus; Press Secretary, Mrs. C. C. Philp; Devotional Conv., Mrs. Nellie Colyle. The January meeting to be held at the Manse. things by the Women's Missionary Society. The purpose was to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the church in Colborne. At the head table were seated Rev. and Mrs. J. A. Shantz and the members of the church board, also Miss H. M. Scoble and Miss Mary Mejas, ionaries in Puerto Rico, who were the guests of honour. After everyone's appetite was amply satisfied, Rev. Shantz acted as master of ceremonies for the program that followed. He offered prayer and read a Scripture lesson following the singing of several favourite hymns. Mr. Gordon Ramer was then called upon jive a short history of the church from the time of its beginning down to the present. Mr. Delos Brown of St. Mary's and Mr. Alvin Ramer were also called upon to make short speeches. A song was very capably sung by Linda Jones, Sharon Seeley and Bonnie Whalen. The President presided the business as follows: Minutes were read by the Secretary and approved. Financial report given by the Treasurer. Several pairs of beige tights, ladies' small size, are available at $2.00 from Lorna Campbell. The Santa Claus Parade is to take place on December 15th with our own Hand and Baton Corps taking part and visiting bands. The Auxiliary will serve hot chocolate and doughnuts to the bands and several volunteered to help. The girls of the Baton Corps will be asked to prepare the bags of candy for Santa. Socials for the boys and girls of the Band and Baton were planned with a Christmas party to be held on Saturday, December 22nd, in the afternoon, and Pre-teen Socials to start in January. After discussion it was decided to feature games, skating and other activities as well as dancing at these socials. The election of officers for 1963 was held with Recreation Director Ring in the chair. President, Lorna Campbell; Vice-President, June Ball; Secretary, Wayne Ring; Treasurer, Ann Colling; Councillors, Evelyn Cammack, Florence Dale, Lola Fox, Helen Irish; Program, Harriet Riis, Jean Tingley; Publicity, Marjorie Armstrong. After the business meeting an auction sale took place with Marjorie Parker very kindly donating her services as auctioneer. She performed her duties in her special inimitable manner, much to the enjoyment of all. $24.00 was realized from this sale. President Lorna Campbell served coffee and a lovely decorated cake for the first anniversary of the Auxiliary. She thanked all those present for the co-operation she had received through the year, with special thanks to Marjorie Parker for coming to act as auctioneer. A vote of thanks expressed on behalf of the n bers to Lorna for the delicious cake, and to her and the Executive for the good leadership they had given during the past year. There will be no meeting during December with the next meeting to take place on January 23rd at 8.00 p.m. in the Community Hall. The guests of honour were then called upon to address the gathering and after expressing congratulations and best wishes for God's blessings in the future, each gave a very touching account of divine intervention in their behalf on the mission field, earnestly exhorted everyone greater activity at home in the Lord's work. Rev. Shantz offered prayer bringing to a close a very pleasant and profitable evening. with Rev. L. K. Sider, first pastor of the church here and now minister of Bethany U.M. Church in Kitchener. His message and words of encouragement both morning and evening were much appreciated by all. In each service several songs were excellently suhg by Miss Betty Shantz of Kitchener. The liberal offerings given throughout the day will be used for improvements to the church auditorium. EDEN U.C.W. (continued) read by Mrs. Eva Hadwin. Mrs. Emma Montgomery read a poem, Other Peoples' Christmas". Lists vere given for our dinner meet- December 12th. The Treasurer's report was read by Mrs. Ken Mutton. It was moved by Mrs. Rosie Samons, seconded by Mrs. Emma Montgomery that our officers stand for re-election for the coming year. Carried. The leader, Mrs. Pat Morrison, replied courteously and agreed to retain the position of leader. Mrs. Ken Mutton asked to be relieved of the Treasurer's position, but agreed to continue as Secretary. Mr. Gillman thanked all the officers for their services during the past year. The meeting adjourned with an exchange of gifts, Mr. Gillman acting as Santa.
