Both extended an invitation to come to Warkworth on Wednesday evening, October 23. It is hoped that at least one carload of ladies may attend this meeting. The sale of church calendars was discussed. It was finally decided that anyone wishing a church calendar might contact either Colborne or Brighton UCW Mrs. Pearson reported that she had been approached by the Colborne Kinette group, with a request to cater once each month. After much discussion, it was decided that Salem ladies regretfully decline this task. In place of the regular program, plans were discussed for the annual Country Fair, sponsored b y the Sslem UCW and scheduled for October 26 at the church hall. Mesdames Frances Everden and Susan Kemp will be in charge of the bake table; Mesdames Vivian Pearson, Marjorie Bailey and Joan Scott - Vegetables Mrs. E. McKague, Mrs. A. Allen, Mrs. F. Welton and Mrs. N. Warner attended a coalition meeting in Port Hope on Saturday. John McCrimmon, Toronto, spent the weekend with friends here and stayed at Mr., Mrs. Harold Foresters. Mrs. Wesley is in Cobourg Hospital where he went by ambulance on Saturday. Mr., Mrs. Laverne Frey and Miss Addie Moeller of Buffalo were Saturday guests of Mr., Mrs. Harold Black. Mrs. Peter Lacey and Lori of Toronto also spent Saturday with the Blacks. Miss Peggy Warner, who is taking nursing training at Belleville, was home for the weekend. Mrs. Rose McQuoid spent the past week in Hamilton with Mr., Mrs. A. Young. Mrs. Clara Simpson of Toronto has been visiting her brother, Mr., Mrs. Clifford Yates for a few days. Mr., Mrs. Clive Carter and Shawn, also Jeff Ward and Mrs. Corbett of Toronto, spent the weekend with Mr., Mrs. Art Carter. Friends were sorry to hear of the death of George Walker in Cobourg Hospital on Saturday. Funeral service was on Monday at Allen's Funeral Home with REv. W.C. Cox officiaitng.
