The directory entitled Farmers' and Classified Business Directory for the Counties of Durham, Northumberland, Peterborough and Victoria for 1887 numbered well over 400 pages. What Cramahe digital archives visitors will find in this record – downloaded here are the parts of the 1887 directory that contained numerous references to Cramahe that were grouped together primarily in three sections - ‘Cramahe Township,’ ‘Haldimand Township,’and ‘Union Publishing Co. Classified Business and Professional Directory for the counties of Durham, Northumberland, Peterborough, and Victoria for 1887.’ This latter section - A49-A92 - was organized alphabetically by the type of business – i.e. Agricultural Implements Manufacturers, Apiarists, Bakers & Confectioners, etc. Numerous Cramahe individuals appear in these business listings by last name, first name or initials, and place. As noted above the section ‘Haldimand Township' was included in this record as the 1887 directory had references to Cramahe individuals scattered throughout these pages. The rationale for the inclusion of Cramahe individuals in these other townships is unknown. ‘Seymour Township’ which is not included here had a random mention or two of Cramahe individuals.
