Griffis Drug Store: Three Generations 1874-1971
Griffis Drug Store 1939
Bill Griffis stands in the entrance way of his father's drug store. The magazine rack to his immediate left has a Canadian Home Journal magazine that has been dated to August 1939, one month before Germany invaded Poland and the start of World War II. True Confession magazines, Ex-Lax, and Kodak film feature prominently in the window display at Griffis Drug Store. A body weighing scale also helped to attract the attention of people walking by the pharmacy.
