We are all of n: keenly interested in extraâ€"curricular- itmlenl activities, and we hope that they may ï¬ll their important place thi; year in the life of the school. Our public high schools are training boys and girls to be ef- fective citizens. and so leaders in community life with all of it‘s ac- tivities must be dexeloped. Our high school is a community itself teeming with possibilities for the developing of such leadership. We shall train citizens of a democracy only by mak- ing this great school community a democracy itself where I" the privi- leges nod duties of a democracy be- long to the students of the student mr months. This problem has been partly taken care of dining the Summer by the parli- floning of one of the rooms to make a new typewriting room, and thus‘ adding to the number of class rooms‘ available. It 'seems unavoidable, however, that teachers and pupils a- like will work under some inconvenâ€" iences. It is believed by the princi-l pal that teachers and pupils together; with the parents of pupils will chem-J fully accept conditiom as they are and give the school their full support.
