- The Upper Canada Herald was started as a weekly newspaper ( published on Tuesday) in 1819, and had the largest circulation of any newspaper in Upper Canada in the 1820's.
Publisher was Hugh Christopher Thomson (1791 – April 23, 1834) - Notes
- In that same year (1819) Macaulay and Pringle had purchased the presses of the Kingston Gazette and started the Kingston Chronicle.
