Steamer ton Sundays Lover the dead body, aa -- NO | SUCH THING AS DEATH, SAYS DR..C. W. LITTLEFIELD Result of Fifteen Years of Inves- tigation -- Can He Restore Life ?--Tried Method on Cats, Dogs, Monkeys and Other Lower Animals. Indianapolis, Ind.. Sept. 24.- Dr. C. W. Littlefield, of Alexandria, 'who for fifteen years has. been pursuing his in- vestigations on the vital principles life, experimenting with cats, monkeys and other lower animals, has made known the result of his work. He makes the assertion that he restore life. He asserts that the prin- ciple of life, in sn is volatile magnetism. In demonstrating his theory the doctor employs a solution of saline origin, with salt as the bas- is, saturated with oleo resin and ex- posed for several hours to an atmos phere of free ammonia. Having secured this saline solution, Dr. Littlefield reduces it to a powder, It is this powder that he has employ- ed throughout his long course of ex- periments. For instance, having put to death a dog or cdt hy drowning, and allowed 'the corpse to remain long enough to convince anyone fol lowing his investigation that all life is extinct, Dr. Littlefield takes the corpse and without preparation of any kind places it upon a heated stone or porcelain plate, brought to a , emperature corresponding to that of normal body, and covers it thor oughly with a light layer ofthe pow- der. Within three or four minutes from the time the powder has heen coated signs of life mani- themselves, and within fifteen after the resuscitating meth ods were shegun, in every instance, the subject has returned to normal life. A, cat remained dead two hours, and during this time was allowed to re main in the hot sun until rigor mort- had set in. The corpse was then ed upon the heated porcelain, and powder applied, and the animal re- turned to consciousness within five minutes. The magnetic influence can casilv be seen by placing a drop of the liquid with minute particles of solid substance in it, under a microscope. The particles can.be seen flying back and forth with indescribable enero and life. ot dogs. fess minutes nn IN OUR OWN CIRCUIT. News Of The Districts On Both Sides Of The Line.
