Accused of Killing Sixteen-Year- St. Thomas, Ont., April 23.--Charles King, twenty-six years of age, who on September 9th, 1902, shot and kill ed sixteen-year-old Willie Freeman, has 'heen found. guilty of / manslaughter, with a recommendation to mercy. King was brought about eight years ago from the Whitechapel district of London, Fngland, and taken by 1D. Fr a farmer, of Aldborough, to work for his board and glothes. Advices were received by the steamship Em press: of China, of the crueifixion, in Kwang Tung, of a Chinese desperado who confessed to sixty murders. This murderer, Man Ling Jin, was decoy ed into Smuntch Hsien, by a man whose father he had murdered and when he confessed to many crimes, it was decided that decapitation was too lenient a punishment and he was nail ed by his hands and feet to a wooden cross and placed on one of the city bridges as a~grnings to malefactors.
