The municipal council of the united counties of Lennox and Addington has made a demand upon the council of Frontenac lor the repair of a bridge in Addington county, west of the township of Portland. It appears that the bridge is on a side road over a piece of marshy land. The side road is used in lieu of the main divisional road, 80 as to escape a big hill. The balance of the main road is maintain- ed joiotly by the umited counties of Lennox and' Addington and the county of Frontenac. ° The former counties maintain that Frontenac should keep the bridge in question in repair in consideration of the fact that Addington furnished the land for the loop road. To repair the bridge means virtually the building of a pew structure at a cost of not less than $800. A firm of lawyers will leok into Frontenae county's liability in the matter. Frontenac councillors do not feel disposed to comply with the demmnd of their neighbors to the west. « THE ANNUAL MEETING Of Woman's Art Association Held on Monday.
