Though I employed the most skilful medical aid, I prow stead ily weaker. In fact, I was in such = low condition that it was impossible for me to walk across the room. My heart was very weak, and 1 suffered from terrible palpitations, which = the doctors said were from troubles pecul- iar to women. Friends u me to try Ferrozone, and 1 bought six box- os. When I had used the third box my old-time vigor and strength returned. The palpitation ceased, my appetite increased, and I got a good rosy col: or in mv cheeks: It would be impossi- ble to speak too highly of Ferrozone. All weak women should use it. 1 hope many sufforing sisters will use Ferro. zone, for it will surely eure them." Rev. J. Thé DBandmann Opera company, au diences at the Grand Opera House Sa turday afternoon and night, fy pure ly English concern. It plays ify the British provinces, and is now on a tour of Canada. Even allowing for the fact that it is a repertoire organi zation, yet it is weaker in more ways than it should be, There was a stiff ness about the chorus girls hich gave the audience an idea that they were amateurs. But there was no doubt on that score regarding . the company's pianist and violinist who were decidedly poor, and failed to hide nny rough Sty that more capable musicians would have hidden. After hearing such a play as the "Geisha ' by a top-notch American company, to have it produced by a repertoire or ganization is hardly enjoyable, But the Bandmann company is a provin cial concern, and is only in existence for the purpose of letting the provin clals hear on a small seale the big things the cities enjoy.' Henco it _js that even a small city {ike Kingston, to which all the big Néw York pro ductions come when off tour, could not be satisfied. The Bandmann com pany is a very weak organization to be travelling so far away from home. The only 'good male singer the com pany has is Charles F. Howard, who takes the principal roles. Harry Cole is the comedian, but did not ex- cel as the Chinaman in 'The Geisha." The role of "O Mimosa San" was taken by Miss Marie Elba, who has a sweet voice. Mies Norma Morra, as "Miss Mollie Seamore," amd iss Lottia Kean," as "Juliette Diamant," werg very bright in their roles, and saved the play from collapse. The costumes were decidedly good. THE ANNEXATION SCHEME, Portsmouth Council Will Receive a Strong Petition To-Morrow. Considerable interest is taken in the annéxation scheme now under develop ment in Portsmouth, At to-morrow night's meeting of the village council a petition will be presented from the ratepayers, asking that a committee be appointed to approach the city council to ascertain 8n what terms the city will apree to annex the village So far seventy eight ratepayers out of dM have signed the petition, and the cotmeil is bound to respect the wishes of ithe petitioners, over three quarters of the ratepayers having signed the document. Vilngers feel that © much benefit would accrue to them if that municipality formed part of the city. For instance, the village would: have adequate police protection, the village streets would be lighted by electric ty. there would be fire protection and, later on the benefit of water works system. The sent village municipal officials would not ba further regwired, effecting a saving thereby. A proper system of drainage would also be se cured and the value of the village property would he enhanced. of course, the villagers do not expect to obtain every concession they ask, re cognizing the fact that there must be give and take on both sides. ------------------ Is Now Principal.
