THREE MEN DROWNED. Result Of Boat Capsizing In The Massena Canal. Watertown, N.¥,. Dats 17.--A, spe- dal to the Shindard, from Massena says that 'three men were drowned in the Massena canal yesterday, and a fourth narrowly escaped a similar fate. The victims were William Wil Liason, George Mofiatt and an In- cian whose name is unknown. The men were in the employ .of the St. Law- rence Power company, and were pass- ing through a run-way on the canal, when their boat capsized. The men were soon out of reach of ropes, and their bodiss were carried down the rapids of the St. Lawrence. DOWIEISM IN WINDSOR. To Be Put Up By The Sect. Windsor, Dec. 17.--Windsor is about to have a tabernacle of Dowieism, of which this city now boasts at least two hundred followers. A deal was closed, yesterday, by which the sect were made possessors of a fine loca tion at the corner of Tuscarora and McDougall streets. The building will be remodelled and an addition built. Dowie has been appealed to and it is expected that a preacher will be sent from Zion City at once so that the work of the church will begin with the advent of the new year. Windsor, Ont., Dec. 17.--Word has reached the local detective depart- ment, to the effect that Mrs. Ellen McKee, the defaulting Irish postmis- tress, arrested here, and extradited to Ireland, has received the exceedingly light sentence of eight months. Mrs. McKee was taken into custody here, for the embezzlement of $3,000 from the Irish postal department. She broke jail while here, and spent three nights in the swamps along the Detroit river. -------- ' Collided With An Unknown.
