Chicago, Oct. 13.--A blind woman was burned to death in: her kitchen, last night, while her deaf old mother sat placidly rocking and mending in an adjoining «em, hearing nothing of the dying daughter's cries of agony. The blind woman was Mrs. Frances Harvey, a widow, forty-one years of age. The mother is Mrs, W. Vierer, cighty one years of age. With them ived Mrs. Harvey's eighteen-year-old daughter Emma, who works in a down-town store, and has supported the family of three. eached home just as Mrs. Harvey was lying. Mrs. Harvey has been blind from childhood, but she knew the house by teart and had been accustomed to do ing the cooking. Her daughter placed things where she could find them and was at hand every morning and night to attend to any details that had es- caped the mother's care, The blind woman had placed the ket tle on the gas stove last night, when the sleeve of her dress, coming in con- tact with the burning gas, became ignited. She cried out in pain as the fire gpread over her clothing and fought the flames dusperately. Through it all Mrs. Vierer in her chair rewed and rocked and hummed n tune faintly. The cries of her daugh- ter were without avail. When her daughter returned from her day's work Mrs. Harvey lay dying on the floor. The Fiftieth Year. A poor oven means ruined food, wasté of coal, late meals and many heartaches. The Imperial Oxford Range is the result of years of experience and scientific study. It has taken years to evolve it, and years of use have proven it without a peer. There are a number of exclusive features in the construction of the Imperial Oxford Range that give it advantages found in no other. Of these exclusive features the most important is the heat-diffusing oven flue. This flue draws th= cold air in from outside the range, superheats it and distributes it through per- forations in the top of the oven. This insures fresh, heated air evenly dis- tributed throughout the oven, the moist vapors of the oven being drawn off by openings provided for the purpose The Imperial Oxford Range, by this construction, gives a dry, even heat, which roasts or bakes an article thoroughly and evenly, the heat in all parts of the oven is equal, the fire side being no hotter than the other s If your dealer doesn't hand Imperial Oxford Range, write angen will send you our catalc tell you where you can sce the The Gurney Foundry Co., Limited TORONTO MONTREAL WINNIPEG CALGARY VAN Weak, Nervous, Discased Men.
