Brockville, May 28.--At Club Lake, near. Gouverneur, N.Y., a young man, named David McIntosh, aged twenty vears, challenged several boys to ac 'company him for a ride in a leaky boat on the shore. All refused, and against the warnings of his friends, he pushed the boat into the stream and started away. About thirty-five feet out his laughs and jests suddenly stopped as he noticed the water fast filling - the boat, and in response to the shouts of those on the shore he slowly turned about making frantic efforts to reach the bank.
