Ontario diocese was now raisihe $6,000 a vear for the mis- his visits to the other dioceses, and in all of them the outlook for contribu- tions were s most promising. He was confident that in 1906 more than $100,000 would be raised. Archdea- cons Pentreath and Lloyd, two dis tinguished western men, were coming to Ontario diocese to help in the mis- sion campaign this year. The develop- ment of New Otatie demanded great er missionary effort on the part of the Church of England which so far has only two missionaries there. In Sas. katchewan, 'there are 70,000 English people and yet there are not more missionaries representing the Church of England in that exten. sive western country. The people there are awaiting the advent of the mis- sionary, through the liberality of the Canadian church, The Church of Eng- land is advancing to the work of the west, and its members are called upon to give their individual aid. Twenty-three parishes reported gains, but the shrinkage a little less than 100. The exodus the west was the chief cause of the shrinkage. However, the number of Easter communicants of 1906 exceeded those of 1905 by 155. There was an increase in Sunday school pupils and teachers and in Sunday school col lections to the amount of $700. Tw, new churches were completed during the year, at Arden and Elgin, and tw,, new parsonages at Brotkville and Am. herst Island. Church property had in- creased to the value of $27,000. Into this the unfortunate party was precipitated. All were badly bruised, Mrs: Cass in particular being seriously hurt, R. J.
