WESTBROOKE WEDDING, A Very Pleasant Event Last Week. A dainty wedding took place at cight o'clock in the evening of August 20th, on the lawn of Sunny Lea Farm, the residence of George Gates, when hia youngest daughter, Estella, was united to Sperry Tourne Burt, only son of the en Thomas Burt, of Mor- ven, The parlor and dining-room wore decorated with flowers, inter spersed with greenery, while the lawn was lit up by Chinese lanterns, as sisted by the' moon, which gave its of Iwightest light. The bride was at- tired in white organdie, with bertha and yoke of lace; her hair was taste fully dressed with white flowers and satin hows. Earl Gates, brother of the bride, played Mendelssohn's wed ding march, while the bride, loaning on the arm of her father, passed out to the lawn through an arch of white ribbon, formed, by four flower girls, Misses Vera McDonald, Alice Smith, Augusta Mabee and Patricia Burt, The ring was borne on the stem of a white Tily, by Master Willie Rowson, of Nipissing, nephew of the bride. Rev. R. Stillwell officiated. The guests, about one huiidred in number, sat down on the Jawn to a sumptuous supper. The groom's gift to the bride was a gold brooch, representing a spray of lily of the valley set with arle, and a gold braceley with mitinls to each of the little flower girls. The bride's travelling suit was of blue henrietta cloth, with hat to match. The happy couple drove in a carriage drawn by white horses, to the city, whence they left for Now Sold and Bird Riddled. The first duck shooting episode of the season has been reported. Yester- day W. Kivell and FE. Ashley armed themselves with the necessary weap ons, went to the High Banks, and laid in wait for the feathered flock, It came near being a futile quest, however, and had it not been that at the last moment a lone bird arose in the air their sport would have been in vain, But on this poor unfortunate creature was wreaked the vengednce coming of hours of weary waiting. Both sportsmen let go at the duck. Not content with one barrel they. de: livered the contents of their second to make sure of the prey. Thin they had One Lone Got Badly York. They will be at home at Mor- ven alter September 21st. SHE WAS DROWNED. Back to Home of Childhood and to Death. Port Robinson, Ont, Sept. 5.
