Is it any wonder then that there comes a breakdown of this wonderful little engine, when such a continued strain is upon it day after day. There are many forms of heart.trouble and the slightest derangement of this im- portant organ is extremely dangerous. To strengthen the weak heart it is necessary to use a remedy that will act upon the heart tissue, restore and revitalize it and at the same time tone up and invigorate the ner< vous system, we have such a combination in MILBURN'S HEART AND NERVE © PILLS Mrs. Ella Dingman, Morganston, Ont., writes of her experience with them: "It is with the reatest of pleasure that I recom- mend Mil 's Heart and Nerve Pills. Dre Sparks ule of of the Joys of Camp Life iri the Réar of the County~Two 'Dears' Whose 'Lives Were Valuable. oe An incidest or two of our expéri- ing to some of the Whig readers who delight in the chase. A My friend, W. J. Morden, Hamilton, and myself, formed two of a party. of four, 'heat upon capturing game large or small. We arrived at our destina- tion, in the rear of Addington county, and were kindly received and royally brother of our host, a vetergn hunt: er, was elected captain of the force. Nothing startling occurrpd the first week. The guide shot a small deer, which" was dressed. to provide fresh meat for the camp. The weather was ideal, With one or two exceptions, the sun arose 'each mornine in all its splendour, * A start _out at sunrise tramping 'the bush, climbing the mountains watching a lake. or runway and breathing the clear, frosty air, was inv iporating. and appetizing. At meal time fooc disap peared 'as by magic. The end of first week found us with a very aa] bag of game. Par- or tridge was very scarce. Deer was plentiful, but in every chase they studiously avoided our lakes and tnwavee Thursday morning, the Sth, we were without dogs, nbt having returned from the chase of the day before, The captain start- ed out to find them: the cruide went on a still-hiat.: Morden and I went a few miles - distant to hint partridge. We found a deer-humting party located there. and, hearing the frequent erack our hounds of "zifles; decided to w acate the ter ritory, as there were two "dears" in the busi which we were somewhat anxious should not be shot that day. Wo returned to camp about 11 a.m. and found an addition to the party in the person of James Hillis, Van- couver, B.C,, son-in-law of the captain and who was home on a visit. A neighbor had brought our mail from the post office, twelve miles distant. Wo eagerly scanned the columns of the Whi~ ahd Spectator for news a week old: We devoursd a cduple of le rors also and had almost devoured onr' dinners when the guide returned. He related how, for hours, he had stalked a deer, sometimes removing his boots that he more noisclessly night glide from log to log and rock te rock: that she had scented danger and eluded him, but that he had sucoeed- ed in getting a rumbing shot as she fled from him. He then had track- ed her to within a couple of hundred vards of the house where she had ron up a small hill. The captain and Hillis took their rifles and started to continue, the chase, but returned in ga few minutes to say that the deer was in the lake.. All hands and"the eook rushed to the lake shore near nt hand. Hillis and the guide were the first to arrive. They launched = and manned the boat while the rest of us remained interested spectators. The deer had entered the lake where the water was open, had swam about half way across and encountered ice and was waking strenuous cofforts tq climb upon - the frozen surface, but which continually gave way under her weight, Considerable de lay was caused by our hoatmen having to break their way through the ice far abeut thirty vards from the landing. Meantime, we upon the shore stood ready to open fipe if the deer was in danger of cseap- ing by reaching ice strong enough to bear her weight, or by swimming out to open water. However, she con- tinued to break hers way until dis- patched by a bullet from Hillis' rifle. She was brought ashore and prepared for hanging up. The captain and Hil: lis went to see if some hounds, which giving tongue at some distance away, were ours. | was left to wateh the lake, and Morden and the guide were detailed to hang up the game. Getting a horse from the stable, they "snaked" the deer to the barn,, when, to their surprise, three men from a neighboring camp came, galloping their horses, to the bam and claimed the deer. were wounded from the rear. This proved conclusively, to our men at least, that this deer was not the one wounded by the other party, but the one the guide had shot at while runniig away from him. Thereupon the decor was hauled up and the visitors departed, disap- pointed and chagrined at not securing the venison--R. E. "SPARKS, Clean Teeth.
