Pp. xvii-227, The nature study, much in vogue in schools, will immeasurably ¢nlarge the vision and: enhance the pleasures of young people. 'Most of us go to the woods and meadows without knowing the names of their familiar denizens. It is not hard with a goed guide like this book to study t names and habits of the flowers, ferns and even commbn weeds that beautify woods and fields. Mrs, Traill makes an ap peal to the mothers of Cgnada "to tech 'their children to know and love the wild Bowers ining in their path, to love the soil in which God's hand has planted them, and in all their after wanderings through' the world. their hearts will tn back with loving reverence to the land of their birth, to the country endeared to them by the remembrance of the wild flowers which they plucked in the hap- py days of childhood." Mrs. Traill is herself an example of the joy and gladness brought through the ministry of flowers. She was one of the pioneer settlers in the back: woods of Canada, transplanted from the culture and refinement of an Eng- lish home to the privations and hard- ships of a settler's cabin. Yit through her long life of nearly ninety years she has derived pe rpetual delight from the--study of flowers She gives. the brief biographies of many of Canadian flowers and flowering shrubs arranged in the order of time in which they appear, together with beautiful plates , many of them colored, of fifty specimens--an ideal book for the holi- days and for all days. scores AN ARTIST AND BILEANS ---- Says They Cured Him: of Pain After Food Constipation and Weakness. One of the most impressive cures of indigestion and allied ailments ever reported has just been effected by Bileans in Toronto. The subject is Arthur R. Hand, a prominent teacher of painting on china, leather, glass, ote, residing at 2 Woodgreen Viace, Toronto. As a teacher of painting, Mr. Hand has made for himself a wide reputa tiga, but his 'work was interfered with considerably by acute attacks of di gestive disorder. He says: "I suffered agonies for months pre- vious to taking Bileans, resorted" to all kinds of remedies, but found only temporary relief. The indigestion came on quite suddenly, soon after cating, and caused me terrible pain. There was a constant feeling of wn comfortable fullness: in the stomach, pains in the chest and under the shoulder blades and rifting and belch- ing of gas. "I had constipation so badly that no medicines seemed to have any ef- fect on the bowels, I dicted a great deal, but the slightest food hronght the same distress, After taking a few Bileans | experienced ease and fort after meals, so I purchased supply of this vegetable remedy and left all other remedies alone. Bileans cured me. Now my food digests very nicely and my bowels get quite natur- ally. "Before I took Bileans my food did me no good, and I was losing weight rapidly. In a few months, through the use of this valuable remedy, m weight increased from 125 to 165 lbs. This increase, too, is not useless fat, but sound, healthy flesh.' Not only for indigestion, hut for constipation, piles, general debility, anemia, female ailments, rheumatism, blood impurities, liver and kidney complaint, headache, dizziness, wind, ete, Bileans are widely rocommended. They are purely herbal and do not merely relieve these ailments--they cure them permanently.
