Sparling's Fine Ser- mons and Lecture. Battersea, Feb. 12~Anniversary ser- vices wore conducted in the Methodist church, last Sabbath. Rev. Mr. Wad: dell was fortunate in haviog secured the assistance of Rov. W. H. Sparl- ing, BA, of Kingston, for the ocen- sion, His sermons at both services wore intensely interesting and edifying, and his afternoon talk at the Sunday school was much appreciated by the teachers and scholars, On Monday Mr. Sparling delivéred his lecture on his "Trip Through Europe." Althou the night was exceedingly cold a fair- ly large audience was present, and at the conclusion of the lecture a hearty vote of thanks was tendered the speaker.
