Gas Main Leaks Repaired. The gas department has now got under .confgol the many leaks that have lately 'occurred in a number of the mains. It was ford that « the leaks all occurred in old pipes, some having heen laid forty years ago. These pipes reqmire to be replaced. The surplus output at the gas plant has been reduckd to a minimum, and it is thus thought that all the leaks have been found. The very cold wea- ther and the very small amount of snow was responsible for cracks in the pipes. -- Electric Plant Matters.
