London, June 7.--John Morley, sec- retary of state for India, in introduc- ing the Indian budget, in the House of Commons, yesterday, defended the sharp treatment he had extended to the Indian agitators and refused to offer any apology for it. He was con- fident the bulk of the population in India were on Great Britain's side. They knew their interests were hound up in the law and order which the British maintained. It was a dream of some educated Indians that they would carry on the government of the country better than the British, but they. could not work it for a week. "Bitish rule in India." New York, June 7.--Starting from a dream in which he had seen a man chase a woman around aroom and stab her three times with a knife, William Flyun, who lives in rear rooms on the fourth floor of No. 403 East 146th stréet, thought he heard sounds of a scuffle in the adjoining flat, occupied by James and Cathe rine Killoran and their three-year-old son. He fancied that he heard a woman's voice cry: "Don't do that; you'll kill me !"" but thinking this a part of his dream, he went to sleep again. That was a few minutes after mid- night yesterday morning, and three hours later Mrs. Killoran was found dead on the floor of her kitchen, with six knife wounds in her head and chest and bruised all over her body. Subseguently, Killoran, her husband, was arrested, and held without bail by Coroner McDonald, on a charge of homicide, pending the inquest. Flynn, who told the story of his dream which the authorities believe was not all a dream, will be an im- portant witness. In a room adjoining that where the killing was done the child was found asleep. Policeman Andrew Brown, of the Alexander avenue station, was at 145th street and Willis avenue at about half past three o'clock when Killoran, clad only in his underwear and shoes, ran up to him and asked him to go to his flat with him, as his wife had been hurt.
