Soo passenger train No. 8 collided, head-on, with a light engine at Moore Lake, one hundred miles east of here. This afternoon a well at- tended meeting was held in The. Grad Opera House and a public meeting was held in the same place, last evening, when a good crowd was again pre- sent. Several speakers from a dis- tance were present, among whom were: George A. Putnam, superintendent of Farmers' Institutes, Toronto; W. Graham, superintendent of poultry de- partment, Agricultural College, Guelph; H. Crark, seed commis- sioner, as T. H. Grisdale, agri- culturist of the experimental farm, Ottawa. A pleasing event took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor, King street, the occasion being that of the marriage of their daughter, Miss Blanche Taylor, to Dr. Henry Flack Graham, of Brooklyn, N.Y. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Wil- liam Timberlake, pastor of Grace Methodist church, before the imme- diate relatives, of the contracting par- ties. Daniel Mo- sier, merchant of this village, has re- turned home from a trip to Cobalt. Mrs. George Gerhard has been sick, but is reported somewhat better. I'he general attendance of pupils, at the Arden school is good, in both rooms, under the management of the princi pal, H. L. Spankie, and Miss Victoria Pringle, respectively. A few days ago, news reached Arden of the death of James 'lallon, for many years a resident of Kennebec, who leit here with his family a few years ago and settled in Manitoba, where he died. Deceased was well known in this section, having been born in Camden. W. E. Detlor, of Ohio, is visiting relatives here, HAYTIANS EXECUTED. Men Were Shot on Flimsiest of Pretences.
