Pleased Concert-goers on Tuesday Night. A treat, indeed, 2 the playing of the violinist, Miss' Marie Nichols, at oonvert, given ufider the auspices of the Vocal Students' Club, in the opera house, on Toesday night. Too much praise; also, cannot be given Mr. Wark, the accompanist, whose singing touch is ddeal for his work. Miss Nichols' playing" of the Bach number; was . greatly emjoyed, and parts of the Faust Fantaisie, were exquisitely given, the evident appre- ciation of the audience drawing forth from her her best. Miss Nichols has "la charming personality. and delighted *leverybody with her re-appearance, hand in hand with Hftle Miss Nora Staples, who had presented her with a lovely bunch of pink roses. Another ceful touch was the wearing, in pretty golden hair, one of these same roses, when she appeared for ber last number, Miss Clara Clemens, who sang sev. eral numbers, wore a very rich and castern-looking gown of broche satin Her voice is somewhat marred -by an underlying nasal tone, distinctively American.
