Av pretty but quiet wedding was solemnized in St. James' church, on Monday evening, when Miss Ethel Lena, eldest daughter of the late George Wilson, was married to Fred- erick Charles Reid, of James Reid & Sons, Princess street. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon Mac- morine. Stuart Wilson, brother of the bride, was best man, and Miss Tena Coffey was bridesmaid. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to the residence of Mrs. James Reid, Princess street, where a sumptuous wedding supper awaited them, and where Mr. and Mrs, Reid received the tulations of their friends. Mr. Mrs, Reid left at midnight for Prescott, from where they will cross into the United States, visiting the principal cities, before their return. They will take up residence at the corner of Earl and Frontenac street. He was mucking in the drift from shaft No. 12, and is supposed to have struck some' dynamite, probably by picking into a missed hole. The entire top of his head was blown off. Gunboats Bought To Rot. Constantinople, Dec. 10.--The two new first-class torpedo gunboats, built for Turkey in Germany at a cost of more than $160,000 cach, have arrived in Bosphorus. After steaming to a position where they cou be seen from the palace windows, in case the sultan should wish to see his new ac guisivions, they entered the Golden orn, where they will probably rot along with the other Turkish war- ships.
