Ruffians Destroy Furnishings in Brighton, N.B., Edifice. St. John, N.B., Feb. 22.-Because Baptists and Presbyterians cannot agree on doctrine there is trouble in the Union Baptist church at Brigh- ton which has led to destruction of property. Rev. Mr. Anderson, Preshy- terian, has been = holding services which are ebjected to by the Baptists, who have ordered him to discontinue. Mr. Anderson's friends regret this, and the church has been entered several nights and the furnishings destroyed.
