Headache and 'neuralgia are pro- pounced signs of Dbicod poisoning. This poisoning of the blood comes from the waste matter of the body being left in the system, instead of being regularly carried off by the bowels, kidneys and skin. When the bowels do not move re- gularly, the refuse is absorbed by the blood. Thus, the blood Is loaded with foul poisons which irritate the nerves, Poor skin action also causes head- ache and neuralgia. Impurities cannot escape through the skin, so the biood must take them up and deposit them on the nerves. if the 'bowels and skin are not rid- ding the system of waste, the kidneys try to do so and are overworked, There is just one way to cure head- aches and neuralgia---to regulate bowels, kidneys and skin so that all the polsons of the body will be proper- ly carried off iin "Fruit-a-tives" keep blood pure and rich--relieve the stomach and kidneys ~--regulite the bowels: and invigorate the skin to healthy action, "Frul-a- tives" are a wonderful discovery, being a combination of fruit Juices and tonics, 50c a box-six for $2.50. Rendsburg, Prussia, Feb. 26.--For some time past counterfeit five-mark pieces have been circulating intNorth- | ern Prussia. The authorities started | to investigate, with the result that im | a number of instances the false money was traced to this town, and it was | finally learned by the police that they | were being paid out by persous con- | nected with the prison here. To clear up the mystery Detective Inspector Scheder had himself committed as @ conviet and was shut up in a cell in the jail. After a day or two of observation | be located a sound of faint hammer: | ing, in a detached cell, where a coun | terfeiter was serving a long term of imprisonment. With this evidence Scheder called in some of his col lengues, and last night they raided the cell of the midnight worker, They found it to be a veritable counterfeit- ers' workshop, in which the convict minted five-mark pieces. It appears that the conviet, after being brought to jail, told the prison inspector where Lis coining apparatus was hidden, The inspector found the dies and brought them to yrison, and arranged that the convict could work at night to make the coins, the in- spector and his family putting them into cirenlation. The inspector, his wife and his mother-in-law, have been taken into custody. : QUAINT ANCIENT WALL. { Relics Found in London. Loudon, Feb. 25.--Valuable Romapg and Norman relics have been brought to light as the result of the excava- tions on the site of Christ's hospital, in Newgate street, in connection with the extension of the geperal post of- fice. Several months ago the workmen came "upon a portion of the old Ro- man wall which ran originally round the city, and the remains have since been found to extend for about. 400 feet under the site of the dinine hall, the direction being at right angles to Newgate street. The wall itself, being of no value, has been destroyed and carted away, with the exception of one specimen piece. 'The rampart was about eight feet wide at the base and seven feet at the top, its depth being sixteen feet. The wall itself was of Kentish ragstone, being very roughly built, strengthened with lime, and held together by several horizontal layers of tiles, about two feet six inches apart. The men also found many me- dieval chalk walls, which were appar- ently part of the ancient Greyfriars' monastery, A large number of earthenware and other relics were found near the city wall, having it is conjectured, been thrown on the rubbish heap as use- less. Most of them were broken, and many 'were only scattered fragments. Among a large number of coins, which have not been properly examined, there arp spveral Roman ones Curious bone skates, broad and polished un- derneath, with holes for the fasteq- | ing#, leathern bottles and vases have | been found in the earth, which has accumulated, or heen made up, in some places, to the depth of twenty feet. There are also a Roman pestle and mortarium, and earthenware pots, tiles, bottles, but practically no iron utensils. AH the, Roman relics were discovered withih the confines of the old city, \ Norman relics Old Roman were also discovered in the diteh which ran outside the city wall. Here were some medieval coins and tools, and a tall Norman vase, about 1100 A.D., which has been mended. ' RELICS OF STUART DAYS. Old House a Refuge in Reign of Cromwell. London, Feb. 26.--~Some extremely interesting relics of Stuart days, which will be an extra attraction for Am ericans visiting Windsor this summer, have been discovered by John Barber, ex-mayor of that royal borough. Mr. Barber, who is an antiquarian and a great collector, obtained pos. session of 'a house in Church street, Windsor, some time ago. The house was known to be 'a very old one, and it was Mr. Barber's intention to ill it with his collection of relics and curiosities and open it 8s a museuin to residents and visitors free of charge. A few weeks ago, in making some necessary alterations, some of the flooring and walls were uncovered, with the result that a number of very interesting Loyalist inscriptions and relica were discovered, proving that the house had been a hiding place the rule of Oliver Cromwell. When Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll; earned of the discoveries she at once called on Mr. Barber and ex- plored the house. As she left she la ly turned on the ex-mayor and , "You positively must charge all Americans and other visitors an ad. niission fee of one shilling and hand the receipts over to the Soldiers' Or- rities."" This Mr. Barber now decided to do, at any rate for this coming summer. About Our Prisons.
