Hiram Walker & Son, Canadian Distillers, Are Active--Judge | Orders Two Promoters to Pay! Money Into Court. Detroit, ~Mich., April Kinne, of the crcuit court at Arbor, Mich., has ordered G. H. Pur- chase and E '. Glenn, Detroit pro- moters, to pay into that court seven thousand dollars of the twelve thou- five thousand dollars collected Apn Arbor investors in a pro- spectivi oil well in the Tilbury, Ont., oil fields in 1906. Judge 'Kinne said the evidence showed that Purchase and Glenn represented to their clients that teh thousand five hundred dol- lars would be required to secure the lease, and that it was incontrovertible that they knew that. the lease was to cost only two thousand five hundred, and it was doubtiul if even that much was paid for it. Two thousand more was spent in development when the subscribers became disgusted and had the property placed in the hands of a receiver, The seven thousand dollars will be paid the investors. Pending the settlement of the dis- pute between the United States gov- ernment and Hiram Walker & Son, Walkerville, distillers, as to the word- ing of the labels on cases of whiskey brought across the river for importa- tion, more whiskey is being brought in. The snowman appears before him, 'Bottles, chickens, ete., are dropped, while he dashes across the field. The snowman picks up the bottle and takes a swig of the nectar. What joy is here! A snowman with 'a jag. Overcome, he lies down in the iow to sleep. The school children at the school house in the morning. They approach and make a mad rush on the snowman, who crumbles and falls a heap of slush. This film is ex- ceedingly funny, while the scenic beau- ty is incomparable and novel. "For Baby's Sake," and "A Phlegmatic Gentleman," are two other good films shown. : reduc ing Voice From The Gallery. Ottawa Free Press: The answer of the opposition was made by E. J. B.
