Toronto News. The levity of the present day in To- ronto is frequently commented upon by elderly persons. During the long- drawn-out election proceedings in con- nection with the choice of a new bishop of Toronto the levity of downtown people disclosed itself in a somewhat free. discussion of the chances of the various nominees, as if they were po- litical candidates, with backers, work- ers, and interests behind them. We re- gret to report, also, that prominent Anglicans, and even members of the clergy, were héard to make humorous remarks about the contest, or phases of it, or persons concerned in it.
