An Tnteresting Review of the Meeting With Happy Details-- The Impressions of Delegates. More than a hundred people took advantage of the invitation of the president of the Woman's Auxiliary of the diocese of Ontario, Miss Macau- lay, to meet at her house, on King ktieet, on Tuesday, and hear brief reports of the Prescott annual meet if. Welch, of St. Jamed church, 'their impressions. The former dwelt on the delight her hearérs felt at Mrs. Heber Hamilton's talks. Mrs. J 0. Crisp, from St. John's, Ports mouth, and Mrs. R. S. Forneri, dio- cesan treasurer, from St. Luke's, spoke. of the encouragement the an nual meeting had brought to their branches. Mise Macaulay ' touched interestingly on several points and asked Canon Starr to close the meeting. Before doing this he said he had been much struck with the simple directness of the reports given, and of the appeals made, and especially commended spirit of prayer in which the auxil- iary's works are carried on. After the meeting, which was en thusiastic and enjoyable, those pre sent had a cup of tea, Miss Deacon presiding at the table, and some of the younger auxiliary workers, there, asfsting_her. gave SAYS HE MURDERED WOMAN. He was placed under ar- rest by the provincial police. There is every reason to believe that the com- fessfon is the result of a disordered imagination; and that. on investiga- tion 'it will be proved that Hordfeck knows absolutely nothing about - the wrurder-- further than what he hak read.
