Death, which resulted from pneumonia, called him away, at 1.45 o'clock, after a very short illness, he having been sick only since last Monday. He had lived with his broth- er-in-law for a number of year, and was foreman in his wholesale and re tail meat business. HELD AT NAPANEE For Purloining a Kingston Livery Outfit. Word was receiv Monday, from N panee, that Chief Graham had taken in charge William Bowen, aged about forty years, on a charge of selling a horse and rig, he hired from" Bibby's livery, in this city. Frederick Bibby was in. Na- panee, to-day, looking after the case. It is stated that Bowen, who has lived in. the city for some time, being employed at a local factory, hired a 'horse and rig a week ago, Saturday, at Bibbg's Livery, with the intention of going to Napanee. He said that he would be back with the outfit on'Sun- day, but it is alleged that he tele phoned stating that he had been de- tained longer than he had expected, and that he would pay extra money when he.got. back. A few days passed, and he did not show up, but he tele phoned two or three times to tell the local liveryman that the horse was all right, and that he would . make everything 0. K. As it commenced to look rather sus- picious, and as a result of other ins formation received, Mr. Bibby investi- gated. It appears, however, that the acousod was not taken in charge until after he had sold the horse. It is stated that Chief Graham nipped the actused while he was in a cab on the way to the railway station with his wife. 14th Regt.
