The ¢ounty council, on Friday morn- ing, dealt with the high school ques- tion, and by a vote of twelve to five decided not to petition the Ontario government to allow county coundils to give grants to high schools outside their own municipal boundaries, which tounty pupils might attend. The vote means that the council is ed to giving any grant to the hing- ston Collegiate Institute. The matter was introduced by Coun- cillor Donaldson, who moved that the question of increased accommodation for the Sydenham High School be left { over till the June session. This mo- tion was objected to as the report of the committee on the matier had not been dealt with, . Councillors Daiden and Fawcett ' moved that the report of the commit- ! tee which waited upon the city board 'of education regarding the attendance | of county pupils at the Ki Col- i legiate Institute be adopted.
