LIBRARY Elsewhere in to-day's issue will be found a resume of the annual report of the Sun Life Assurance Co, It should prove very interesting for all people who believe in the benefit of insurance, as results have heen most gratifying to the company and to its working forces. In 1900 the total life assurances in force amounted to $57. 980,634. In 1910 it had increased to $143,549.276. This practically" tells the whole store of the enormous growth of Sun Life company in one decade. The assurances: issued during 1910 and paid for in cash were over £2,000, 000, greater than in 1909, The cash income from premiums and other sources was $1,932,321, more than in 1909. The surplus in 1910 reached the large sum of $1,232.545. Of this sur- | plus $377,792 was distributed to policy | holders, $210,850 was applied to an- |nuity reserve and the balance added to surplus during the vear. The record of this Canadian company {is one of which every citigen should be iproud. Such an evidence of growth {could not be possible unless the coun- try itself were prosperous. It is 1 gratifving to know that there is a { Canadian company whose assurance in force to-day reach over 1434 millions of doliprs--a sum which would make {many a large English or American | company envious. George A. - Bateman, 67 street, is the local representative of this company.
