Our readers will be interesled to learn that the Oxo company are by far the biggest freehold farmers in the world, whose lands are devoted to a Jraration of concentrated foods. is concern has owned cattle farms since 1863, and its holding now amounts to over 4,500,000 acres, situ ated in the River Plate and in South Africa. Recently they have carried out an enormous deal with the British South Africa company by which they have acquired the frechold of 1,200,000 acres on the highlands of Rhodesia. The breed of cattle they favor is the well-known Hereford breed. They have on their larms splendid speei- mens of pedigree animals from his ma- jesty the king's farms, at Windsor Castle, and many other well-known British breeders. The amount of grass which the eat tle consume in a year has been co ti- mated by experts to exceed the enorm- ous weight of three million tons, and the water drunk by the cattle is esti mated at over nine million quarts per the in The Oxo ranches are all situated in mild climates, the calves are born in the open air, and are practically nev- er placed in sheds, and this renders them particularly healthy and discase proof. Tuberculosis, the dreaded cat tle disease, is practically unknown among the Oxo herds. The pastures are luxuriant and constant, and artic ficial feeding consequently is not call for. This enormous cattle supply is the great secret of the success in the Oxo products, v are able to prepare their concentrated foods from exclu: sively high grade and home fed beef, thus securing a richness otherwise un- obtai I you are interested in Oxo, send a gost card to the company's agents, essrs, Corneille David & Co., To- ronto or Montreal, asking for a hand: somely colored Oxo Cattle Farm Card, which your children can eut out and set up, DIED AT WESTPORT. The ts of the last eoro- nation are followed closely, except the minor points, like the substitution of irls for boys as the queen's train , but a series' of new questions has been raised for the Delhi cere mouial and the investiture of the Prince of Wales at Carnarvon, since tradition and recent practice do not cover . Lard Curzon and other viceroys have been consulted, respecting the Delhi function, and the decision has been that it must not be treated #s a recrowning of the king, already consecrated at Westminster Abbey, but as a separate crowning as Emperor of India. A thousand novel details connected with regalia and costume and orien tal pageantry need to be determined. The prince's investiture is almost equally ag difficult, owing to Welsh sensitiveness, : The Duke of Connaught, who is the king's closest adviser, has decided never to accept anoiher military com- mand.
