George Carruthers, night clerk at the British-American Hotel, fell down in Saturday morning, and lies now in the Hotel Dieu in a serious condi- tion with small chance of recovery Shortly after the accident happened, Dr. Robert Hanley was called, and later Corbett's ambulance removed the unconscious "man to the Hotel Dieu. It was found that he was suf- fering from a blood clot on the brain. He was unconscious from the time he fell. and It is not likely that he will recover. Mr. Carruthers is about sixty-five years of age, and has been night clerk at the hotel for the past five years, and was well liked. His many friends were grieved to learn of his accident.
