Remains Late Miss Edythe Akroyd Arrived From West, Sydenham, April 18.--The remains of the late Miss Edythe Akroyd, who died in Alberta last fall, were brought home for burial, arriving Sunday afternoon last. A large pumber o relatives and friends awaited their last respects to ome they knew and arrival at the cemetery to pay their loved so well in life. On Monday morning came the rsad news from Kingston of the death of Miss Mabel Pixley, second oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner Pixley, after only a few days' -_ ill- ness with scarlet fever, aged sixteen years and ten months. Three weeks ago Miss Pixley left her home to clerk in one of the stores in King ston, and on Monday week she walked to the hospital, not feeling well, and she had improved so much her father expected to drive to the city and bring her home this Monday or Tuesday. But on Saturday typhoid set in and after two days of terrible suffering she died Sunday night. Her father and cousin drove in on Mon. day and brought the remains direct to the cemetery, where a large num- ber of sorrowing relatives and friends were waiting. After the reading of the burial service by Rev. Mr. Hanna the'burial took place in the family plot.
