Chicago, Aug. 4.-An anonymous hervine, a telephone operator, did her best to save a man from being mur'ored shortly before midnight. Through the instrument she heard two shots which felled John Dotzall and sent the police to Mathew Strons' saloon where he was em- ployed. Dotzall had 3600 in the cash register when two men entered. They demanded the money and order ed him to throw up his hands. He leaped for the phone and asked for Main 13, police headquarters.
