While at play with a number of com- panions, Tuesday afterngon, Mar. She recover, : The Hime used at a new house on North street, and it appears that nowe of thé workmen were near at hand at the time, 20 as to prevent the child from mmping into the box, fhe ¢hildren were running about, and the LeHeup girl just jumped into the box for a prank. As ix the usual cus- on wilt wns being tom, sand has been sprinkled over the lime, and she was under the impres sion that it was all sand. The child was wearing a peir-of sandals, and this made her case all the worse. As she jumped into the . box, the lime splashed all about her legs, and with a terrible scream, she jumped out again and ran to her home as speed- ily as she could, but she was in terri- ble pain. A hurried call was sent to Dr. Rob- ert Hanley, and the latter was soon on the scene, and did all that was possible for the little sufferer. The child was terribly burned, right up to the knees. It was stated that she could not have fared worse had she been burned by fire. She is doing as well as can be expected; but it will be three or flour weeks, and possibly more, before she is able to he around again. » P-- Great reductions in price at Pre vost's, Brock street, in ready-made clothing, gents' furnishings and cloth- ing to order.
