Melnnes, the liberal can- didate in the county of Frontende, well | deserves the title of "the fighting can- didate." Melnnes, and which took the form of a joint debate between the liberal candidate and Kingston's mem- ber for. the dominion house, W. FP, Nickle. a Smith Elliott occupied the chair, and 'R. .J. Vair was the first speak- er. He spoke for about twenty-five minutes, and then Rev. Mr. Mcinnes delivered his address, speaking for about an hour and forty minutes.
