A more erroneous conception of the relative position of the Indian princes it is impossible to conceive. Bat it explains the difficulty of dogmatizing upon Indian royalty, even when we!l- known Anglo-Indian gentlemen are asked to co-operate in arriving at conclusions. The chief of these is the young Nizam of Hyder- abad, whose coronation toek place, with an immense display of feudal ringnificence, last May. He is the actual ruler of a country bigger than Britain, with powers of life and death over millions of subjects.
