Death at Crow Lake, Crow Lake, March 24.--Thd recent storms have left the roads in a very bad condition. The crows have re turned, but as yet they are the only signs of spring. James Hawley and family have moved to Powassan, and James Mahon has rented the farm vacated by him. Some of the officials of the C.P.R. to be bailt this sum: mer, are at work buying the right of-way. A number of the people around here are buying hay, which is a good price, School is closed for a few days on account of the absence of the teacher, Miss Clow, who was called home, owing to the illness of her sister. The death of 8. McGinnis which occurred on Tuesday night, cast a gloom over the neighborhood. Deceased, who was about fifty years of age, had been ailing for some time. About three months Ago, be took to his bed and had been there until death relieved him of his pain. Mr. McGinnis was an old resident here, and during his life won the love and respect of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, and friends. Besides his brothers and sisters, he leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, two daugh- ters, Hattie and Pearl; also two sons, Hyland and Cecil, all at home. The funeral will take place to St. James' church, Parham, on Friday, at eleven o'clock. The family have the heart- felt - sympathy of the whole com- munity. Reports From Outlet. Outlet, March 25.--~The music of the wood saw is the latest, as R. Burch has been cutting wood for the far- mers here. He finished on Monday in this locality and will now leave for Berryton. John Crozier has moved back from Mallorytown to this vicin- ity. Weldon Bradley and son, Gerald, of Ellisville, spent Sunday with friends here. Mr. and Mrs, J. H. Slack and children were guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Fodey on Sunday. Whooping cough is very prevalent in this sec tion. Alfred Hall is confined to his bed with a relapse of mumps. Mrs, William Crozier, Sr., has gone to the home of her parents, near Bracebridge, being called there by the illness of her aged mother. Mr. and Mrs. John Fodey are visiting their daughter, Mrs. Robert Milne, Brewer's Mills. The driving is excellent across Charleston Lake. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwell Slack, seriously ill with pneu- monia for the past three weeks, is now convalescent. Mrs. Annie Vanderburg and children, little Vena and Gerald, left, on Wednesday, for their home at Ventnor, having spent the winter with friends here.
