Man Drugged to Prevent His Votin Succumbs, Quebec, May 20.--The strange death is reported of a man at' Lévis named Bernard, who died on the night of Wednesday last (élection day.) The deceased, according to reports in eir culation, was kept in a committe room with another man named Bis son, and kept under the influence of liquor so as to prevent them going to the polls. The son of Bernard, whe was filtyfour vears old, finding he had not turned up for supper, started ot to look for him and, according to the story, found him in the commit: tee room. As he could not be aroused a physician was summoned, and he was taken to the Hotel Dieu, where he died shortly afterwards. Colicosur, has opened go searching investigation into the case, and on Saturday a number of wit nesses were heard.
