IN FIRST GAME i When They Went to Toronto Early in January With Little Practice Anoher Warning to Spectators While St. Michael's 'hockey . club hates to see anything wearing St. Mi- ques uniform beaten (and it is not very, | often that it occurs), the Toronton- ians here on Friday night took their defeat in a congenial sportsmanlike manner, Frank Dissette, Secretary O'Grady and Jobu Stormont, and a number of others who accompanied the team, "congratulated Froutenacs on their vietory. Although Frontenaecs have finished their scheduled games their victory in the final one gives them some ' standing, and doubtless exhibition | games will be arranged. Had it not been for the local team's defeat early | in the season by Varsity in 'Toronto Frontenacs would have tied St. Mig- ues for the group." A,, Frontenacs| and Oshawa will likely meet in the first game of the round either he ro | or in Oshawa at the end of next week. When Frontenacs tossed us| with Belleville they lost the privilege | of having the first game on their] opponents' ice. The management | would like the first of the round! which the team is entering to be in Oshawa . After Championship There is a very keen contest go-| (ing on at the curling rink in the al- ternoon series of games, for the championship. At the present time, the teams skipped by Prof. Watson Prof. Goodman and George /Hague| are making a very stromg bid for the honors. Bach team is worth watch-| ing in the Yemaining games. At Ideal Theatre The management of thé ldeal| Theater beg to announce to their| many partons that they have made | arrangements with the famous play-| ers corporation who are presenting under the personal direction of Dan-| ial Frohman, all of the biggest and | pens of the best playwrights with casts which include such famous stars as Mrs. Fiske, Lily Langtry, James J. Hackett, Laura Sawyer, N.| C. Goodwin, Mary Pickford, etc, to] handle all their big successes. The! first of these, " A Danghter of the| Hills," with Laura Sawyer as lead ing lady, a pastoral drama of long #go in three acts, will be shown at the Ideal Theater Monday and Tues- day. These pictures have been pre- sented in only the larger American and Canadian cities and have been successful in attracting people ¢o =ee them who never attended the '"miovies" before.
