The Board Education, at meeting ron Tharsday night, ered the estimates for 1915, passed upon them. Although the Board has put Jorth every effort possible to eurtail the expenditure, it vas found absolutely necessary to ask for 85,000 more than last year. Trustee Mills, the finance mimster, brought down his budget, und it was discussed at some length, hut on being put to a vote, was adopt od. Truspe Elliott opposed the adop- tion of - the estimates as presented, clai ning that the committee should not have asked for a larger amouot than last year, in view of the appeal mad: to cut down expenditure by the cour] and the hard times at present being experienced.
